2005 Bench Lands Pinot Noir, Umpqua Valley

About 65% of the blend is from the Melrose Vineyard on a bench of the South Umpqua river.  This Dijon 115 clone was blended with Wadensvil and Dijon 114 from the Red Hill Vineyard, the highest elevation in the Umpqua at 1300 ft.

Light river stone soils contribute fruit flavors of strawberries & raspberries with fine grained soft tannins. The barrel program is 33% new French oak for 1 year.

Showy and forward this flavorful wine is an easy drinking companion to lighter fare, like our favorite, grilled wild salmon.
